Wedding Weekend

This past weekend was a wedding weekend for us. My friend and former roommate Casey got married to her high school sweetheart. (This is Lacey posting). I was in the wedding so John and I were there for all the festivities leading up to the big day: the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner, the pictures, the ceremony, the reception, and all that stuff. It made us pleasantly reminisce about our wedding day and how great it was. We kept whispering to each other at key moments during Casey and Jordan's day, "Remember when we........." or "Remember when this......" or "Remember when so and so did such and such...." and we had a great time just thinking back to the day when we said "I DO" forever to each other. A few of our remembrances include the following:

--Remember when Jemima so carefully placed all the flower petals down the aisle making sure they all got used and there was just enough to make it to the end perfectly.

--Remember when my Dad forgot to lift my veil back after he walked me down the aisle. (Casey's Dad did the same thing, so don't feel bad Stuart). :)

--Remember when we had our first dance and John dipped me at the end of the song. (There was an elderly couple at this wedding who were waltzing and did the same thing--it was totally cute!)

--Remember that our food was so tastey. Cheesecake...mmmmmm. (Casey and Jordan's food was very delicious as well--they even had a really cool ice sculpture with their names in it.)

--Remember how all of our family memebers came together and did such a great job getting stuff ready for such a huge event!!

--Remember how my Uncle Sam from Canada came and helped run the show at the reception to make it personal and fun.

--Remember the awesome toasts Amanda and James gave to the bride and groom! We loved them! :)

There are many many things we can recall from our wedding which made it so wonderful to us, and we had a good time this weekend watching such a special day take place for another couple. It's just the beginning for them as it was for us!! I'm sure they will have many great memories to recall in years ahead, just as we do, and just like many of you. Beginnings

John and I were married approximately 4 months ago on November 17, 2007. It seems like the time has flown by so quickly. We got married in my hometown of Bowling Green, KY in the crisp fall weather when it's not too humid and not too cold. Our wedding party was fantastic, and we had the most fun with our brothers and sisters there! John's brothers were the groomsmen and my little brother was the ring bearer. My sisters were the bridesmaids and his little sister was the flower . I know I'm probably a little subjective, but I think we had the best group of attendants ever!! :) The wedding and reception were such a dream, and the whole day was a memory to cherish with so many friends and family there! It meant so much to us that some many people came from all over, near and far! (Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Florida, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma, Maryland, Canada, Mongolia, etc.)

After the whole wonderful day John surprised me with his wedding gift to me--a trip to Hawaii for our honeymoon!! WOW! We got to spend our first week of wedded blis on the beautiful island of Maui. It was such a great time and we're already wishing for a time to go back and enjoy it some more!

God brought us together in His unique way, in His unique timing, and will continue to lead us in His unique plan. Stay tuned for more....
